As I look to 2019, I’m getting some serious TECHtastic vibes.
Here’s why.
Just a few of my anticipations (and predictions) for 2019.
✅ Creating and scaling more tech companies in #YQG & #CKont (DYK, last quarter @wetechalliance saw 37 new clients and $6.2 millions in investment raised by active portfolio companies?)
✅Greater ecosystem collaboration (including regional representation at North American International Auto Show Automobili-D exhibit & Ontario Centres of Excellence’s Discovery Conference)
✅Increased brand awareness of #YQG and #CKont as leaders of innovation (More people around the globe 🌍 will be hearing our #wherecanadabegins story) Don’t believe me? Check out these Where Canada Begins videos or even these #YourWindsor videos
✅Increased “strategic” investment in the region that builds upon our strengths
✅Focus on STEM Talent – Attraction, retention, diversity and engagement (DYK University of Windsor Faculty of Science has a 1:16 faculty to student ratio, the best in Ontario?)
✅Doubling down on the Automation & Mobility, Agri-tech and MedHealth sectors (DYK the Windsor-Essex Region is 1 of 6 Regional Technology Development Sites (RTDS) under the Autonomous Vehicle Innovation Network (AVIN)?) Beep, beep. We’re awesome.
✅A successful arrival and integration of Quicken Loans downtown home (Cheering for a QL #NerdOlympicsYQG team this year (wink, 😉)
✅Arrival of @learningcode Windsor Chapter (January 2019) and other coding initiatives to get all ages involved in coding.
✅A spring/summer #YQG Lime scooter 🛴 arrival … Just my prediction 😊
✅Increased innovation programming for SMEs via WEtech’s Innovation Catalyst program
✅2019 TMT Predictions with Duncan Stewart of Deloitte in April 2019
✅ World’s first Hacking Health focused on the intersection of healthcare & mobility
✅ A better understanding of the word TECH … it’s not just software and apps anymore. All companies are TECH-enables.
✅ Regional tech companies to keep an eye 👁 out for —> Scribendi – Editing and Proofreading Services for English Documents, Olt Footcare, Kegshoe & Optimotive Technologies.
